Job Description:

Flight Nurse – Bakersfield, CA
Golden State Air Ambulance, LLC

• Assesses patient needs in inter-facility hospital-to-hospital patient transport settings utilizing accepted nursing and paramedic standards; Sets priorities of care rapidly and accurately under all conditions and in varied environments; Functions in the field without direct physician supervision utilizing assessment skills and written Golden State Air Ambulance Nursing  protocols when physician contact is not possible, and accepts responsibility for such actions.
  
  
• Provide high acuity care to a predominantly interfacility population of patients from neonate to geriatric.
  
  
• Maintains excellent documentation skills adhering to Golden State Air Ambulance requirements for clinical documentation, as well as documentation of demographic information for billing and collection purposes utilizing state of the art ePCR and electronic billing forms.
  
  
• Maintains and is proficient in the use of all equipment and supplies used for patient care and transport including, monitor/defib/external pacer, portable ventilator,  and communication equipment, etc. This includes equipment utilized on fixed wing aircraft and ground ambulances.
  
  
• Participates in public/community relations and education assignments, which may include speaking to groups
  
  
• Participates in the process of improvement and educational programs, which requires participating in chart reviews and in-service presentations; Attends staff meetings as required by local medical direction.
  
  
• Maintains excellent customer service skills; Adheres to Golden State Air Ambulance customer service policy.

• Variable Shifts:  Part-time, 24 hr. on-call status with flexible days.

Qualifications:

• California Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure
• Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing (preference given to individuals possessing a degree)
• BLS CPR, AHA or ARC
• ACLS
• PALS
• NALS
• 3 Years ER and/or ICU Nursing experience

Preferred

• Previous EMS Flight Experience
• Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure
• EMS Certification in Critical Care Nurse or EMT-P
• Pre-hospital Experience (RN or Paramedic)
• CFRN
• Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course (TNATC)
• Instructor Status in ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNATC
