Job Description:
Flight Paramedic – Bakersfield, CA Golden State Air Ambulance, LLC
- Assesses patient needs in inter-facility hospital-to-hospital patient transport settings utilizing accepted paramedic standards; Sets priorities of care rapidly and accurately under all conditions and in varied environments; candidates must be able to functions in the field without direct supervision utilizing assessment skills developed in prerequisite paramedic experience requirements. Follows lead as required from Flight Nurse. Follows established Paramedic protocol by the State of California and the Kern County EMS Department, and accepts responsibility for such actions.
- Provide high acuity care to a predominantly interfacility population of patients from neonate to geriatric.
- Maintains excellent documentation skills adhering to Golden State Air Ambulance requirements for clinical documentation, as well as documentation of demographic information for billing and collection purposes utilizing state of the art ePCR and electronic billing forms.
- Maintains and is proficient in the use of all equipment and supplies used for patient care and transport including, monitor/defib/external pacer, portable ventilator, and communication equipment, etc. This includes equipment utilized on fixed wing aircraft and ground ambulances.
- Participates in public/community relations and education assignments, which may include speaking to groups
- Participates in the process of improvement and educational programs, which requires participating in chart reviews and in-service presentations; Attends staff meetings as required by local medical direction.
- Maintains excellent customer service skills; Adheres to Golden State Air Ambulance customer service policy.
- Variable Shifts: Part-time, 24 hr. on-call status with flexible scheduling.
Qualifications:
- California State EMT-Paramedic Licensure
- Kern County EMT-Paramedic Accreditation and/or
- Central California EMT-Paramedic Accreditation
- BLS CPR, AHA or ARC
- ACLS
- PALS (with-in 6 mos. of hire date)
- NALS (with-in 6 mos. of hire date)
- 3 Years Paramedic Field Experience
Preferred
- Previous EMS Flight Experience
- ICEMA Accredation
- FP-C
- Instructor Status in ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNATC
- Appropriate BS degree
- PALS and NALS at time of hire
